Additional Charges & Massachusetts Waste Ban Items
The Massachusetts D.E.P. has banned the following items from all landfills. Homestead Disposal, Inc. prohibits the acceptance of Asbestos, Medical Waste, or any Liquid Waste, including Paint, Oil, and Solvents. The disposal of hazardous or special wastes in our dumpster rental is strictly forbidden. Should any hazardous or special waste be discovered in the dumpster, it will be quarantined until it is rendered compliant for disposal. All costs incurred due to the presence of hazardous and special waste will be the responsibility of the customer. If any of these waste ban items are placed in a dumpster, the following per item handling charges apply from all Transfer & Recycling operations in the State of Massachusetts.
- Television and computer screens are priced at $55 each. - Mattresses and box springs are available for $125 each. - Propane tanks are offered at $55 each. - Car tires and batteries are priced at $55 each. - Appliances with Freon, including air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, and dehumidifiers, are $55 each; white goods like washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers are also $55 each. Rental includes delivery and removal of dumpster and disposal of debris. $15 per day after rental period and over weight charges of $200 per ton pro rated past allotted tonnage.
**Yard waste refers exclusively to organic materials. Dumpster rentals can be arranged specifically for brush, such as tree limbs and other woody organic matter, or for grass and leaves. It is important to avoid including rocks or dirt. Mixing any non-organic materials, such as treated wood or general trash, with yard waste is prohibited. Additional fees will be incurred if unacceptable materials are included in the yard waste dumpster.
