Additional Charges for Dumpster Rentals & Waste Ban Items
The Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection has prohibited specific items from being disposed of in landfills. Should any of these banned items be found in a dumpster, the following handling fees will be charged by all Transfer and Recycling operations throughout the state of Massachusetts. The rental agreement encompasses the delivery and collection of the dumpster, as well as the disposal of debris. An additional fee of $15 will be incurred for each day beyond the rental period, along with overweight charges of $200 per ton, prorated for any excess weight beyond the specified tonnage. Television and computer screens incur a fee of $55 each, while mattresses and box springs are charged at $125 per item. Propane tanks also attract a fee of $55 each. Car tires and batteries are subject to a charge of $55 per tire and $55 per battery. Additionally, appliances containing Freon, such as air conditioners, refrigerators, freezers, and dehumidifiers, will incur a fee of $55 each. White goods, including washing machines, dryers, and dishwashers, are charged at $55 each.
Homestead Disposal, Inc. prohibits the acceptance of Asbestos, Medical Waste, or any Liquid Waste (including Paint, Oil, Solvents, etc.). The disposal of hazardous or special wastes in our dumpster rental is strictly forbidden. Should any hazardous or special waste be discovered in the dumpster, it will be quarantined until it is rendered compliant for disposal. All costs associated with the handling of hazardous and special waste will be the responsibility of the customer.
** Yard waste refers exclusively to organic materials. Local dumpster rental services offer options for either brush, which includes tree limbs and other organic woody materials, or for grass and leaves. It is important to avoid including rocks or dirt. Mixing any non-organic materials, such as treated wood or general trash, with yard waste is prohibited. Additional fees will be incurred if unacceptable materials are included in the yard waste dumpster.
